Safety administrators in the US have opened an investigation into electronic throttle modules fitted in Volvo C70, S60, S70, S80, V70 and V70XC models built between 1999-2001. The NHTSA (National Highway Transport Administration) has received 136 complaints about sudden loss of power, steering problems and random stalling; one accident and two injuries are thought to be linked to this fault. Around 266,000 vehicles are affected. No recall or investigation has been launched into this matter in the UK.
