You're right, let's all love FF and hate IE (i've been doing that for a year)
And i always make sure i'm sticked with the police, then i activate the pursuit breaker, and in most of the times, he's dead.

Cross, is a policemen, a very special one, it is said that he is the best one, but, for me, he is the worst one, you will notice him, he drives a black Corvette c6 with white stripes and the police logo, you only catch him at level 5 (and with enormous bounty), he stays 2 or 3 cars before you so you can destroy him too easily in a pursuit breaker

Cross is really easy to get away from, but that takes the fun away of seeing his car in a wreck. A way i have gotten away from the cops a few times is by going under the trailer of the trucks carrying logs, it might be hard to keep the constant speed but the cops cant get ya.
