I'm playing on a PS3 and played Carbon and loved the game but I have to admit, I loved the police chases and messing with the cops the most :P I didn't really care for the Canyon races and from what I hear that was one of the biggest new additions to the game. I would be looking at the PS2 used version of Most Wanted so I will take a hit in graphics but was wondering if it is more fun and enjoyable to try and alude the cops all the time on this game compared to Carbon?

MW is definitely a lot more fun. carbon is basically the same base game with additions and alterations. the car lists for both games are good. cop chases are tons of fun. the canyon races are annoyingly tough. both games have mediocre physics engines...not to mention that the AI seems to have the computer cars driving on rails in both games.

Yeah, AI is linear, not adaptative, that's something i hate from MW and Carbon

As long as it's fun and has the cop chases in it it's all good to me :P Sounds like a perfect fit cause I think MW has more police chases in it. I might swing by one of our gaming stores around here today to see if they have it in used. I know they are coming out with a brand new game for the PS3 but I think that will be a while before it's out for me to enjoy another new game :(

Police was much better in Most Wanted, but I personally like Canyon races in Carbon :)

They are hard, yet I loved humiliating Darius in my pink Carrera GT!!:D
Police are more challenging in MW, which is why I agree with Kelmas.

Got it new for $20 as it's a greatest hits game and I couldn't see myself paying $17-$18 for a used copy when I can get it new for $20. I also couldn't see my self waiting 3 days or more for it for $15 or so off of Ebay. I got it 2 days ago and have been playing it each night. I love it...I can't believe how challenging and fun it is :D Yeah, the graphics aren't as tight compared to Carbon on the PS3 cause it's on the PS2 but it's still graphically stunning for a PS2 game. All the challenges you have to do just to race the next driver on the Blacklist keeps you going for a long while. It is harder trying to outrun the cops as well but a lot of fun with new scenery that I didn't see in Carbon like running through bus stops and a baseball field :DD Overall, I'm enjoying the game a whole lot and it's a steal for $20 :D Oh and Mia is smoking hot!! :P

1 thing I don't like right now is when you have a HUGE lead on the Blacklist driver and you're not hitting anything or wrecking (like one time I had a 6 sec lead) and all of a sudden by the next turn with a lap to go, they are on your tail 8) I don't get how that happens...You can't make up a 6 sec differential in half a lap :-s

thats the rubber-banding effect, its in carbon too...trouble is it doesnt work both ways, you wont catch up like that in the end game races

Rubber-banding.... nice term. It's true, because if its close at the end you can still outdrive them.

I prefer MW mostly because of the fact that it actually has a LAN option.
Carbon is online only and there are various issues of installs refusing to patch to 1.3.
I didnt care much for the cops. At least they've done away with drag in carbon because they were gradually wrecking it.
NFSU had the best drag and MW the worst imo.
overall MW stays my favourite though.
oh ye and i wish i had my NFS MW Elise in Carbon rather than that sloooooow one T_T

MW didn't have its fair share of muscle cars... and they shouldn't have got rid of drag racing in Carbon. That long stretch of freeway between all the boroughs in Carbon would've been perfect for it. The cops in MW were good. But if you check out my ProStreet post about what muscle cars should be there you'll see what I mean.

Both games had drawbacks. MW should have retained drift from Underground 2, and Carbon should have kept drag racing. Not only that, like Streetfire said the police AI in MW was very good. I didn't like Carbon's tier-based performance upgrades. That severely limits cars potential... but Carbon's challenge series was also much better than Most Wanted's.. so it's a matter of taste. For purely racing, I really preferred MW though.

On the other hand, Underground and Underground 2 were full of rice, rice, rice. Ugh. No muscle cars (bar the Mustang and GTO), it was full of ricers and everything had to have a fart-cannon on it and sound like a fart. Worst part was you were forced to rice your car in order to win...

Underground was cool beacause it had the S2000, but a Hummer H2 in U2??? Doesn't make sense...
