Maybe try Gimp (http://gimp.org)? It's free ;)

You could download a free trial of CS2. These 2 programs allow you to "add layers" so they call it.

Here are a few products I've researched:

http://www.arcsoft.com/products/photostudio/
http://www.pierresoft.com/eng/image-editing-concepts.htm
http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/index.php

Of these three, I would recommend trying photoscape first, since it's free. Hope I helped!!:D

Use GIMP, it's waaay more powerful than Photoshop, and free too. Only downside is that instead of opening in one window, it's all over the place.

More powerful than Photoshop? Sure. In your dreams :)

I don't think you've used both at all.

Yes, I have used both of them. I used GIMP before I got photoshop, and I gotta say, photoshop is way better.

Photoshop IS more user freindly, however, GIMP is free! I have tried both before.

Photoshop is free if you download it aswell. (Not suggested though)

I just simply didn't want to spend $700 on a damn program.

(yes i DLed it)

my point exactly. all i want to do is merge pictures into cool backgrounds. why spend 700 bucks on that when i can pay for some new kuhmos?!

Well it is verry common to undervalue intelectual work like computer software. We all are more tend to pay for things we can touch. But people do hard work to make that software and they deserve user's support. So it's better to use free alternative rather than a cracked commercial software ;)

I do side with Sagwa - Photoshop is more user friendly.

if you are not planning to use photoshop for a long period just download the free trial or just use gimp or other online photo manipulation tools.
