Back in 2002 there was a tute to get rid of the insert cd dialogue altogether - I think it involved hex editing porsche.exe

it seems to work, I dont need to underclock my cpu to play nfs porsche anymore
I got the CD message, but no big deal, just click OK and it runs the game...
my cpu is a overclocked pentium e5200 to 3.3ghz,

I didn't edit my .exe, I downloaded the file from rapidshare.

What is the fastest a current, commercially available CPU can be overclocked?Is 10+ ghz even theoretically possible with a freezing cooler? I would think that there would be a much lower threshold because of other limiting factors if heat was removed from the equation, but my friend insists it is possible to reach 12ghz with a current, commercially available CPU.

What are the benefits of multiple cpu core computers?What are the benefits of a computer with dual cpu cores over a single cpu core computer? The fastest dual core computers i can find to buy are 2.4ghz, but single core is around 3.0ghz.

Well, I recieve the annoing message about the CD, but it run fine w/o any CD. Worser is, that it also disable numlock. I did not like that, but perhaps in time GL1zdA can make that work too?

LOL I love statements like that, I hope your friend have more in store, because that is so funny Obviously he did not understand at all that modern CPU's are more about number of cores, paraellism and that both Intel and AMD give up in the game of Mhz.

Witch is why the worldrecord is still duck reached 8180.4 MHz with an Intel Pentium 4, and not a Conroe architecture, witch max out at 6218.69 MHz with an Intel Core i7 Extreme 975 (45 nm)
(BTW, AMD can go slightly higher - 7127.85 MHz with an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (45 nm))
