The story starts in November 2002. Gytis Repecka named himself "Kelmas" (means "stump", translated from Lithuanian) and created a personal web site. Main content was in Lithuanian language and consisted of links, game saves, useful writings for studies, stamps he wanted to exchange with other people catalogue and some more stuff.
Until April 2003 couple updated versions of that site were developed but they all were very far from professional work or even meeting W3C HTML standards.
On 4th April, 2003 Gytis registered f-1.co.nr address and started Formula 1 portal. This project had nicer design and was also powered by PHP and MySQL. It had a highly customed content management system. As Gytis worked much with this project, personal page was nearly closed.
In July 2003 Gytis made a car named "911 Kelmas Turbo Tuning (996)" for the game "Need for Speed 5: Porsche Unleashed" and asked "Gaming Source" to host this project under kelmas.biz.ly address. This date is the early start of the project later named "Need for Speed Tuning", now known as "NFS Tuning". In these days site only contained a welcome page and a link to download "911 Kelmas Turbo Tuning (996)" car.
In December, 2003 Gytis registered kelmas.com for personal site. Under this domain his music, useful links, jokes and some other information was published. Site was not related to "Need for Speed Tuning".
In March, 2003 hosting company that used to host kelmas.com closed down and Gytis decided to join personal page and "Need for Speed Tuning". The new kelmas.com was hosted at "Gaming Source" and was available in English and Lithuanian.
In June, 2004 Gytis registered a separate name for "Need for Speed Tuning" site - nfstuning.com. Sites were separated. kelmas.com was personal site and nfstuning.com - "Need for Speed Tuning" site.
Site was continually expanding and on 30th March Julius Denafas (aka Julas) joined Gytis and helped a lot with interesting and professionally written content both in English and Lithuanian languages. Also, Julius' cousin Tomas Tumalovicius gave permission to publish his authentic photography in NFSTuning.com gallery.
In April, 2005 a new host was chosen. NFSTuning.com was moved and at the moment is hosted at HostGator.
In November, 2005 one more domain was bought and pointed to NFS Tuning - autonews.lt.
Now NFSTuning.com is expanding: team is looking for partners, also searching for interesting information not only about "Need for Speed" but also about real cars, writing articles and providing you with automotive industry news.
